This strategic level course provides corporate executives and SME managers with a range of management tools used to both assess and improve their own businesses’ financial and operating performance. The internationally renowned performance techniques introduced and applied during this course will be applied to real corporate case study examples.
This course has been designed by SME owner managers to share a wealth of experience in performance management with their peers. It is therefore a highly applied course which develops concepts from a practical and not simply theoretical basis.
Having completed the course the delegates will have a detailed understanding of:
- The importance of planning and managing the SME budget within the current prevailing economic conditions of rising inflation and interest rates
- Using the resource audit to plan new project, product or service development for the company. This will allow the executive manager to identify which resources will act as the limiting factor in the current economic and trading conditions
- Reviewing budgeting techniques to demonstrate how to work around bottle necks and limiting factors when planning for new project development
- Using Porter’s Value Chain analysis to assess areas for improvement in the business, to improve efficient and profitability
- Identifying key areas of financial distress in the company in order to take corrective action
- Using sensitivity analysis to identify the potential impact of price changes and cost increases on company profitability
- The motivational aspects of budgeting and how to achieve the best results from the workforce in keeping the SME operational
- Applying holistic performance management measures such as the Balanced Scorecard to identify key performance indicators for the company to assess the development of the company’s critical success factors
Using holistic performance management measure to also increase financial performance through internal efficiencies and customer satisfaction
