Duration

3 Days: 9am – 4pm

Delivery

Online or In-class

This three-day course is designed to run on a stand-alone basis and will ensure that it delivers on the dual objectives of:

  • bringing a comprehensive understanding of the bank wide ERM framework to the participant, as well as
  • putting it into a SME focus.

The programme will put the learning in context of your bank’s SME business strategy.

To support the enhanced SME, we also propose a dedicated module that tackles two of the latest (emerging) trends in Risk Management.

  • ESG developments – with a look into how this impacts the SME business
  • Digitalisation in the SME (lending business)

JBS feels that early introduction of these topics, concepts, and jargon – will not only increase awareness – but more importantly, drive the mindset change that will no doubt be needed to enable staff to be contributory team players in the transformational journey.

As an indication only, we give below a non-exhaustive list of topics we will cover. Each topic will carry a SME perspective.
  • essentials of ERM and an ERM framework and the interaction with the SME world.
  • The main risk categories of
    • Financial Risks (Credit, Market and Liquidity) – relative importance in SME business
    • Non-financial risks (Operational Risk, Strategic risk, reputational risk, information security risk, fraud risk, operational resilience, vendor / 3rd party risk etc.).
  • Look at the evolution of Basel and the way we look at risk. With developments on risk appetite, risk culture, conduct risk.
  • Appreciate the Integrating lenses of Balance Sheet perspectives, ALCO, ICAAP etc.
  • Introduction to ESG and Digitalisation in SME lending.
